LOR Gallery celebra sus 27 años de existencia, presentando ‘Tierra de Nadie’ del artista dominicano Gerard Ellis. Opening: 5 de Mayo, 7 pm, Torre Piantini, convirtiéndose en su 8va exposición en Santo Domingo y por primera vez en 7 años, desde “Perros Mudos”(2015). El nuevo show producido por Ellis en el emblemático ‘Atelier Gazcue’, integra un cuerpo de doce piezas inéditas, conectadas entre sí, desde una evolución natural en cuanto a lenguaje, paleta, atmósfera y composición, dentro de la cosmología híbrida que identifica su universo particular. Ellis aborda el lado erótico de la privacidad y el silencio, abrazando la tensión que yace en el instinto contenido de sus sujetos.

Reitzel Gallery es un ejemplo perfecto de donde realmente brilla la configuración en solitario de VOLTA. Su artista principal, Gerard Ellis, pudo compartir toda la amplitud de sus habilidades con un estilo mutable que baila entre representaciones foto realistas y abstracciones confusas. Los cuadros potencialmente dramáticos y teatrales están salpicados de una quietud y tensión artificial que detiene la acción, como si estuvieras viendo un diorama estático. Las obras expansivas invitan a los espectadores a acercarse, donde se descubre la meticulosa obra de Ellis y la detallada evidencia de su experiencia como dibujante”.

LOR Gallery celebrates 27 years of existence, presenting 'Tierra de Nadie' / ‘No Man’s Land’ by Dominican artist Gerard Ellis. Opening: May 5th, 7 pm, Torre Piantini, becoming his 8th exhibition in Santo Domingo and for the first time in 7 years, since "Perros Mudos" (2015). The new show produced by Ellis in the emblematic 'Atelier Gazcue', integrates a body of twelve never-before-seen pieces, connected to each other, from a natural evolution in terms of language, palette, atmosphere, and composition, within the hybrid cosmology that identifies his particular universe. Ellis addresses the erotic side of privacy and silence, embracing the tension that lies within the contained instinct of his subjects.
