About
Mariano Ferrante (Bahía Blanca, Argentina, 1974) is a self-taught painter since the age of ten. He studied at the Martín A. Malharro School of Visual Arts and the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design at the National University of Mar del Plata. In 2000, he moved to Buenos Aires, dedicating himself entirely to visual arts. He participated in contemporary art clinics led by Tulio de Sagastizábal and began exhibiting individually in 2009 at Zavaleta Lab and the Centro Cultural Recoleta.
Throughout his career, he has created large-scale murals in spaces such as the Centro Cultural de España, Ciudad Cultural Konex, Fundación PROA, and the Belgrano Station of the Buenos Aires subway. His work is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires (MACBA), and he has participated in major art fairs such as arteBA, PINTA (NY), KIAF (Seoul), and ArtTo (Toronto).
His solo exhibitions include Dynamic Constructions at BOSI Contemporary (NY, 2013), La resonancia interior at the Centro Cultural Recoleta (2016), New Work at Art Projects International (NY, 2019), Monocromo (2021), and Partituras (2022) at the same gallery. In 2024, he presented Grand Prix at Smol, Cámara de Proyectos (Buenos Aires) and completed the site-specific work Otro espacio aparece Nº 4C/24 at NYU Langone New Center (NY).
He published the book Ferrante (2018), and his work is part of public and private collections in Argentina and worldwide. He lives and works in Buenos Aires.
