What Was I Thinking?

Lyle O. Reitzel Gallery presents a new Solo Show by dominican artist living in New York, Tania Marmolejo (b. 1976), with the name “What was I thinking?”. The opening will take place Thursday, September 10th 2015 in the Gallery located in Piantini, Santo Domingo.

The show features 16 new artworks where the artist’s intent is to “engage the viewer through a representation of strong emotions, provoked by an intense and questioning glare of the eyes, yet- at the same time- an ambivalent and unclear expression. The emotion is expressed mostly through the intensity of the stare, which hopefully produces in the viewer a mirrored reaction, and the recognition of a feeling in themselves, even though that feeling may not be clear”.
