The Tunnel
Lyle O. Reitzel Contemporary Art, established in Santo Domingo in 1995, is proud to mark 2 years of expanding its reach with a New York branch. Located at 139 Eldridge St., in the heart of the Lower East Side, we celebrate our second anniversary with an explosive group show titled "The Tunnel" opening on March 9th, 2018, 6-9 PM
The gallery, with an established base in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and its Lower East Side satellite, exploits its international presence to serve as a borderless conduit between disparate milieu, facilitating dialogue between Latinx artists and the New York art scene.
For this special occasion LOR Gallery introduces two New Yorkers to our fold in the “The Tunnel”: Scott Daniel Ellison (Bronx, NY 1973) and emerging artist Bruno Smith (New York, NY 1990); alongside a stellar lineup: José Bedia and Luis Cruz Azaceta (Cuba), Edouard Duval Carriè (Haiti) Uruguayan Master Ignacio Iturria and N.Y. based Mexican-texan Artist Ray Smith as well as four generations of Dominican artists: José García Cordero, Raúl Recio, Gerard Ellis, Scherezade García and Tania Marmolejo.
LOR Gallery has participated in such relevant international art fairs as Volta New York, ARCO Madrid, Context Art New York, Context Art Miami, ArteBa (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Zona MACO (México), MiArt (Milan, Italy), Scope New York, Scope Miami, Pulse Miami and KIAF (Korea), among others.
