Diciembre 2024El miércoles 4 de diciembre a las 7:00 p.m., la galería Lyle O. Reitzel Arte Contemporáneo inaugura tres solo shows simultáneos reafirmando su compromiso con el arte contemporáneo y las celebraciones previas a su 30 aniversario.
Gustavo Peña (RD) presenta “The Great Outdoors”, una serie que explora la conexión profunda con la naturaleza en toda su grandiosidad. A través de un lenguaje visual intenso y texturas vibrantes, Peña desentraña la relación entre el ser humano y su entorno. Utilizando la técnica del impasto, sus paisajes exuberantes trascienden la representación literal, convirtiéndose en metáforas de libertad y expansión.
Desde Mallorca, el artista emergente español, Francesc Rosselló (ES) nos trae “Periplo Pictórico”. Con un lenguaje fresco y versátil, Rosselló invita a ingresar a un imaginario visual alucinante. Sus obras figurativas, que transitan entre el nuevo realismo y un toque primitivista, reflexionan sobre la experiencia cotidiana a través de una mirada intimista y autorreferencial.
Alejandro Santana (RD), figura clave del arte caribeño, introduce su serie Elixir Marino, un recorrido de la relación entre lo conocido (la historia) y lo desconocido (el futuro). Inspirado por la fuerza del océano, Santana crea un universo donde lo tangible y lo espiritual se entrelazan, reflejando su filosofía: “El movimiento genera la vida. El mar trasciende el tiempo, el aire origina el movimiento y la tierra siembra el amor”. Esta serie, homenaje a su país y a su vínculo con Lyle Reitzel y la familia Pérez Brown, actúa como un puente entre su historia personal y su pasión por Santo Domingo.
Esta muestra colectiva, curada con rigor académico, no solo presenta obras que establecen un diálogo interinsular, invitando al espectador a reflexionar sobre temas como la identidad, la memoria y la construcción de narrativas locales en un contexto globalizado, sino que también consolidan la visión de la galería como un referente clave en la escena artística caribeña. En su camino hacia el 30 aniversario, Lyle O. Reitzel Arte Contemporáneo reafirma su compromiso con la promoción de artistas locales e internacionales que continúan innovando y desafiando las normas del arte contemporáneo. Con “Diálogos de Isla a Isla”, la galería celebra la riqueza de su trayectoria, invitando al público a ser parte de una experiencia estética y reflexiva que une distintas realidades insulares.

Gustavo Peña (RD) presents “The Great Outdoors,” a series that explores the deep connection with nature in all its grandeur. Through an intense visual language and vibrant textures, Peña unravels the relationship between humans and their environment. Using the impasto technique, his lush landscapes transcend literal representation, becoming metaphors for freedom and expansion.
From Mallorca, emerging Spanish artist Francesc Rosselló (ES) brings us “Periplo Pictórico.” With a fresh and versatile language, Rosselló invites viewers into an astonishing visual imagination. His figurative works, which navigate between new realism and a primitivist touch, reflect on everyday experiences through an intimate and self-referential lens.
Alejandro Santana (RD), a key figure in Caribbean art, introduces his series “Elixir Marino,” exploring the relationship between the known (history) and the unknown (the future). Inspired by the power of the ocean, Santana creates a universe where the tangible and the spiritual intertwine, reflecting his philosophy: “Movement generates life. The sea transcends time, air initiates movement, and the earth sows love.” This series, a tribute to his country and to his connection with Lyle Reitzel and the Pérez Brown family, acts as a bridge between his personal history and his passion for Santo Domingo.
This collective exhibition, curated with academic rigor, not only presents works that establish an inter-island dialogue, inviting the viewer to reflect on themes such as identity, memory, and the construction of local narratives in a globalized context, but also consolidates the gallery's vision as a key reference in the Caribbean art scene. On its path to the 30th anniversary, Lyle O.
